A note from the founder

I'm Ezequiel. I live in Barcelona. For the last 20 years I've worked as a professional tattoo artist, and in the trade I'm known as Ezequiel Samuraii. I studied art, illustration and graphic design, and my work has always revolved around images, composition and detail.

Eyewear has been with me all my life: I've worn glasses for more than 30 years, and my mother sold them in her shop when I was a kid, so our home was always full of different pairs. My other passion has always been classic cars and the culture of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. One day, looking through images from those decades, I came across a photograph of Emerson Fittipaldi wearing a striking pair of sunglasses, and I understood that those two worlds were the same one. That's where SWT was born. I went all in: how frames are designed and made, the materials, the lenses, the history of frame design.

But for me, SWT is much more than that. The eyewear comes from a world that existed long before it did: the cars, the roads, the Mediterranean light, adventure. A place where things are made well, with good materials and care in every detail, or not made at all; where objects are meant to last. And my job is to make sure that everything carrying the SWT name comes from that same place, and shows it. Each frame is cut from cured cellulose acetate sheet and finished by hand, with stainless-steel hinges and lenses chosen for each model.

SWT stands for See What's There. It's an invitation to look at things differently: paying attention, noticing the details and really seeing what is in front of us.

That's how I approach my work, and how we'd like people to experience SWT.
