Buying sunglasses online comes down to one question: will they fit. Here is how to know before they arrive.
The good news is that you do not need to measure your face, guess your size, or hope. There is a simpler method that works almost every time, and it starts with a pair you already own.
The numbers that describe a frame
Every frame can be described by a short set of measurements, all in millimetres. You will see them on each of our product pages, written like this: 55-17-145.
The first is the lens width, the distance across one lens at its widest. The second is the bridge width, the gap between the two lenses that sits over your nose. The third is the temple length, the arm that runs from the front of the frame to behind your ear. We also give the lens height, and the single most useful number of all: the total frame width, edge to edge across the front. That last one is the number that really tells you whether a frame will fit, and it is the one to focus on.
The method that actually works
Forget measuring your face. The most reliable way to find your fit is to measure a pair you already own and like the fit of. Take sunglasses or glasses that sit well on you, lay them flat, and measure straight across the front from edge to edge. That single number, the total frame width, is your reference.
Then compare it to ours, listed on every product page. If the total frame width is close, within a couple of millimetres, the frame will sit on your face much the way your current pair does. Wider means a more relaxed, oversized fit. Narrower means a snugger one. It really is that simple, and it beats any face-measuring chart, because you are comparing against something you already know works.
The three SWT fits
Each of our collections has its own proportions. Here is how they compare.
Endurance has a total frame width of 140mm, with a 55mm lens and a classic aviator proportion. It suits a medium or narrow face well, and reads as a confident, medium-sized frame. The driver's shape.
Panorama shares the 140mm total width but carries it differently: a smaller 49mm lens, a wider 21mm bridge and a lower height. It is the most versatile of the three and works across the widest range of faces. The summer shape.
Strada is the largest of the three, with a 147.9mm total width, a 57mm lens and the tallest lens height of the three at 46.5mm. It suits a medium or wider face, or anyone who wants a bolder, more present frame. The statement shape.
